MAESTRO
Multipliers in Adult Education – Structures and Organisation
This project was about strengthening adult education in so-called "other learning places". Work on the Maestro project started in 2004 and continued in 2006. In addition to the Institute for Philosophy of Children in Graz, adult education institutions from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Cyprus participated in this project. Modules were developed in close cooperation with regional museums, which were suitable for "learning units in the museum" or to support the elaboration of historical, artistic and cultural topics.
These modules for adult education were exchanged with the European partners. Thus, if necessary, there could be an exchange of material or personnel, i.e. guest exhibitions could be presented and experts from abroad could be used for a seminar.
A small "Instructive Museum Guide" was created, which enables individuals, groups or even seminar participants to explore exhibitions under aspects that are consciously questioned, problematized, reflected upon, placed in a larger context.
"MAESTRO" was selected among the ten best projects of Socrates Action 3: Grundtvig in the first year of the project.
