ECODIALOGO
The project ECODIALOGO was developed under the auspice of the SOCRATES program. ECODIALOGO aimed to strengthen environmental education in primary and lower secondary schools through philosophical reflection based on interdisciplinary and intercultural approaches.
The goal of the project was to guide students to engage in critical, well-reasoned, creative, and meaningful dialogue. The students were prepared to think and discuss calmly and rationally about environmental issues. Foundations and premises were opened up to them, allowing students to gain a better understanding of nature. In addition, they were encouraged to question and reflect on unsecured aspects of a discipline and to think about ethical, social, epistemological, and even logical, metaphysical, and aesthetic foundations. Through philosophical dialogue, controversial viewpoints were illuminated and enlightened.
Impact:
- Critical examination of the living space (Community of Inquiry).
- Sharpening personal responsibility towards the individual and society
- Awareness of the environment
- Awareness of alternative energy sources and their use (optimization of energy consumption in the school, wood chips, waste gas, solar energy in the village).
Further on, the projects "Eco-Sophie" and "Aquarius" developed out of this project.
