Scienceweek for Kids 2024
Science Week for Kids
Curiosity and questions are encouraged!
When: July 22nd to July 26th, 2024, daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Where: Kinderfreunde KIBIZ Graz, Pappenheimgasse 8.
The workshops are interactive. Participants will engage in research, exploration, experimentation, as well as play, art, singing, and laughter.
Each day, there will be two workshops covering different areas, such as:
- Number Systems: Exploring the significance of numbers in various cultures, their origins, and creating triangular numbers while discovering other patterns in natural numbers.
- The Secrets of Physics: Investigating questions like why the sun rises, why heavy and light objects fall at the same speed, how electric current is generated, and how a barometer works.
- Why Do We Need Music?: Delving into the science of music with specific questions, taking a fascinating sonic journey through different musical eras.
- Art and Culture: Creating your own artwork while exploring concepts of art and culture, learning about various artistic movements, and experimenting with different painting techniques.
- Fascinating Colors Around Us: Exploring the role of colors in our surroundings, the significance of colors, and whether everyone perceives colors equally.
- All Life Comes From Water: Exploring the properties of water through experiments.
The planned week will cover the following areas of science:
- Biology and Environmental Science
- Philosophy and Linguistics
- Mathematics
- Physics and Chemistry
- Musicology
- History and Cultural Studies
