MAESTRO
Multipliers in Adult Education - Structures and Organisation
Project Number: 04-DEU03-S2G01-00024-1
The aim of this project was to strengthen adult education in so-called "other places of learning". Work on the Maestro project began in 2004 and continued in 2006. In addition to the Institute for Children's Philosophy in Graz, adult education centres from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Cyprus took part in this project. In close co-operation with regional museums, modules were developed that were suitable for "learning units in the museum" or to support the development of historical, artistic and cultural topics.
These modules for adult education were exchanged with the European partners. In this way, it was possible to exchange materials and personnel, i.e. guest exhibitions could be presented and experts from abroad could be used for a seminar.
A small "educational museum guide" was developed that enables individuals, groups or seminar participants to explore exhibitions from aspects that are deliberately questioned, problematised, reflected upon and placed in a wider context.
In the first year of the project, "MAESTRO" was selected as one of the ten best projects in Socrates Action 3: Grundtvig.
